BCBSA Forum Examines Problem of Medical ID Theft

On June 19, at 12 noon, EST, the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association unveiled its national, aggregate 2007 anti-fraud statistics and discussed preventive techniques to stem the insidious problem of medical identity theft and healthcare fraud.  Medical identity theft is among the fastest growing and most costly type of healthcare fraud and consumers can take simple steps to avoid being victimized. This forum was spearheaded by Byron Hollis, Managing Director, BCBSA National Anti-fraud Department, two Blue Cross and Blue Shield anti-fraud investigators, and Jim Quiggle from the Coalition Against Insurance Fraud.
